Event description
The Columbia Mountains Institute of Applied Ecology (CMI) hosts an annual event where we gather members of the scientific community, Indigenous community members and representatives, stewardship groups, and interested individuals to provide updates on ecological projects taking place in southeastern British Columbia – everything from field trials, new restoration projects and their associated community initiatives, to ecosystem monitoring and research, etc. These updates cover a wide range of topics and species. This is an informal atmosphere and everyone is invited to attend, mix, and mingle!
This event travels around the Columbia Mountains area to and this year our Researchers’ Forum will take place in Nelson, BC. This year we’ll host a session that highlights aquatics work in the region, alongside a variety of other ecological projects. We’ll host presentations and a social on Thu Oct 26th, and venture out for a morning of field trips on Fri Oct 27th.
Call for presentations
Call for oral presentations now closed, a list of presenters coming soon. (It looks great!) Anyone still wanting to submit a proposal for a poster or display is welcome to do so until Oct 5th.

Registration
Registration fees include catered breaks and a buffet lunch on day one. There is an option to purchase bagged lunches for the field trips on day two (recommended.) We have done our best to keep the rates as low as possible.
Regular rate (includes CMI members): $55
Students and non-profits: $30
