Information for Event Sponsors and Commercial Exhibitors
Our conferences are usually attended by 100-200 people, depending on the event and the topic. Participants are an interdisciplinary group of biologists, foresters, resource managers, protected area managers, public interest groups, First Nations, and others concerned with improving the ecological management of mountain ecosystems. Although most people will be from southeastern BC, we attract people from all over western Canada, into the United States and beyond.
How can your company be involved in this event?
1. Make a donation of a minimum of $500 or more toward the general costs of the workshop, and become a “Conference Sponsor.” Receive a verbal “thank you” and be introduced at the conference, and have your name will be highlighted as a sponsor in our agenda, web site, promotional materials, and the workshop summary. You are welcome to bring along a commercial display. Your people attending the conference will need to pay the registration fee in addition to the donation.
2. Sponsor one of the following: coffee break, lunch, or the “Networking / Poster Session” for a minimum donation of $1000. Receive a verbal “thank you” at the workshop and special mention, e.g., before the coffee break you are sponsoring. Your name will appear on our web site, promotional materials, and the workshop summary. You are welcome to bring along a commercial display. Our events do not typically include a “trade fair” so your information will stand out. Your people attending the conference will need to pay the registration fee in addition to the donation.
3. Sponsor a keynote speaker: Most conferences have a keynote speaker. You can help with all or part of the costs for the keynote speaker – please give us a call to check on arrangements and costs. Minimum suggested amount is $1,500.00.
4. Bring a commercial display when you are not a sponsor – fee is approx. $175.00 (varies from event to event) and one person must be registered for the conference and pay the conference fee. Additional people staffing your display are required to pay the registration fee. Your name will be listed with the other displays and posters, in the workshop agenda. Our events do not include a “trade fair”. Typically our conferences have only 1-3 commercial exhibits. Your exhibit will be set up in the room where the event is held, and participants will be able to view your materials throughout the workshop. Your exhibit will be part of our “Posters” session. Note that due to our privacy policy we are not able to provide you with a list of conference participants and that proposed exhibits must relate in some way to the themes addressed at the conference.
5. There is no charge for displays and “posters” about projects related to the theme of the workshop, as long as they are of a non-commercial nature. Displays and posters need to be accompanied by a registered workshop participant.
There is no deadline for signing up as an event sponsor, however, the sooner the better, so we can include your name in promotional materials.
Please call us at the CMI office 250-837-9311 or office@cmiae.org to discuss your sponsorship.
