BC Lake Stewardship Society

The BCLSS conducts lake monitoring, community education, and restoration through its member lake stewardship groups.

Kootenai River Network

The Kootenai River Network is an alliance of diverse citizen’s groups, individuals, businesses, industry, and tribal and government water resource management agencies in Montana, Idaho, and British Columbia. Our mission is to involve stakeholders in the protection and restoration of the chemical, physical, and biological integrity of the Kootenai River Basin waters.

Kootenay Lake Partnership

Through partnership, information sharing and optimizing available resources, the KLP wishes to develop integrated, collaborative approaches to lake management planning, in order to address the current and future activities on and around Kootenay Lake in ways that sustain the ecological health, First Nations cultural and socio-economic values.

North American Lake Management Society

This is a communication and information distribution network between public lake interest groups, government, and industry. Primarily an American focus.

Pacific Streamkeepers Federation

The PSkF is a non-profit society committed to supporting community groups involved in Streamkeepers activities throughout BC and the Yukon.

Ramsar Convention on Wetlands

The Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971) — called the “Ramsar Convention” — is an intergovernmental treaty that embodies the commitments of its member countries to maintain the ecological character of their Wetlands of International Importance and to plan for sustainable use of all of the wetlands in their territories.

Slocan Lake Stewardship Society

The purposes of the Slocan Lake Stewardship Society are: to research and cooperatively plan guidelines that will ensure the care and protection of Slocan Lake, its tributaries and foreshore; to support and initiate projects and programs for sustainable lake use; and to facilitate education regarding Slocan Lake, its tributaries and its environs.

Society of Wetland Scientists

The Society of Wetland Scientists is an international organization of about 3,500 members dedicated to fostering sound wetland science, education, and management.

WetKit – Tools for working with wetlands in Canada

WetKit is a web-based tool kit designed to streamline access to practical tools that can help Canadians better understand and manage wetlands. WetKit showcases a wealth of wetland tools and explains how each one can help conserve wetlands and benefit you or your business. WetKit also helps users to find the tool they need, and to access that tool quickly and easily – on the Internet or over the phone.

Wetlands International

Wetlands International is the only global non-governmental organisation dedicated to wetlands. Their vision is a world where wetlands are treasured and nurtured for their beauty, the life they support and the resources they provide.
