Meet Jasmin Dorinda, CMI’s new Program Assistant!

Jasmin Dorinda joined as CMI’s Program Assistant in August 2025. Jasmin brings a diverse background in environmental monitoring, wildlife surveys, conservation land and watershed management, and community engagement. She holds a BSc Hons in Ecology & Wildlife Conservation, an MSc in Applied Marine Science, and is currently wrapping up a PhD in Environmental Science where she focused on river-to-coast connectivity and wetland restoration.
Originally from the UK, Jasmin relocated to BC in 2023 to find home in the mountains. She has a keen interest in ecosystem functioning and habitat connectivity, and continues to further her understanding of climate change resilience in ecological restoration practices. Jasmin has contributed to landscape-scale projects across a variety of settings, including non-profits, applied research institutions, and public sector organizations. Passionate about engaging diverse audiences with awe-inspiring nature, Jasmin has led international, cross-sector initiatives that blend ecological education, creative storytelling, and community engagement to advance conservation. Outside of work, Jasmin can be found testing her skills in mountain biking, snowboarding or whitewater kayaking, and on calmer days, exploring new trails with binoculars at the ready as an opportunistic birder. She looks forward to facilitating meaningful knowledge-sharing at CMI and engaging with the ecological community in the Columbia Basin and beyond!
