Event Description

For almost 30 years (we missed a couple) this event has traveled the upper Columbia Mountains to gather members of the scientific community, Indigenous and provincial land managers, stewardship groups, naturalists and community members to provide updates on ecological projects taking place in southeastern British Columbia – the territories of the Sinixt, Secwepemc, Ktunaxa, and Syilx Okanagan people. This is a chance to share and get caught up on everything from new restoration projects and their associated community initiatives, to ecosystem monitoring, research, field trials, and land stewardship initiatives. This gathering has an informal atmosphere where everyone is invited to attend, mix, and mingle!
This year we’ll celebrate 30-years of CMI operations alongside the Researchers’ Forum – so you can expect some special celebratory additions to this gathering.
See here for the AGENDA. Registration is required to attend everything apart from the evening plenary.
Evening plenary
All are welcome to join us for a talk with two of CMI’s founders, John Woods and Bruce McLellan at the Begbie Brewery – no registration required, but please arrive on time, if not a bit early.
