Call for proposals: Researchers’ Forum in Sept this fall

Annual Researchers Forum and CMI’s 30-year celebration: Call for Proposals, and save the date so you can join us in Revelstoke Sept 25-26.
For almost 30 years (ok, we missed a couple) this event has traveled the upper Columbia Mountains to gather members of the scientific community, Indigenous and provincial land managers, stewardship groups, naturalists and community members to provide updates on ecological projects taking place in southeastern British Columbia – the territories of the Sinixt, Secwepemc, Ktunaxa, and Syilx Okanagan people. This is a chance to share and get caught up on everything from new restoration projects and their associated community initiatives, to ecosystem monitoring, research, field trials, and land stewardship initiatives. This gathering has an informal atmosphere where everyone is invited to attend, mix, and mingle!
This year we’ll celebrate 30-years of CMI operations alongside the Reasearchers’ Forum – so you can expect some special celebratory additions to this gathering.
You can expect an afternoon of short presentations and posters followed by an evening social at the Begbie Brewery, and a public talk with two of CMI’s founding directors: the infamous John Woods and Bruce McLellan. On Sept 26th you can expect series of field trips in the Revelstoke area.
The call for proposals is still open, and what we’re seeing so far is pretty darn good!
